Forumak (Forum Aktualny Hudozhnikov/ Forum for Contemporary Artists) is a series of guest lectures given by artists, critics and curators on the topic of their own work. The series was initiated in September 2008 and is an Open Studio project based at Smolny College. In the academic year between September 2008 and June 2009 twenty eight evening lectures are scheduled to have taken place taken place with guests from St Petersburg, Moscow, Europe and America. The lecture series is open to the public and has attracted a wide audience from around the city. Forumak has helped to establish Smolny College as a center for public dialogue on the topic of contemporary art and it is intended to continue into the future.
